WES DAWLEY
Wes Dawley has been in the construction industry for the last 30 years including residential, commercial and industrial forms of construction as well as operating heavy equipment, framing homes, forming and placing concrete, installing septic systems, water lines, built steel buildings among many other phases of construction. He is currently employed by the government at the Groton Subbase as an inspector for all the in-house trades to ensure quality of workmanship, budget requirements and ensures all safety standards are in place. He volunteered as the set designer for the North Stonington Elementary School Drama Club and oversaw the designs for five of their productions. He is also a member of the Westerly Flag Fund Committee which manages the placement and removal of over three hundred flags in downtown Westerly during parades, holidays and special events. Wes lives in Westerly, RI and enjoys spending his free time by the water. Mr. Dawley has been a member of the Eugene Atwood Fund Trade and Tech Committee since June, 2020. AIDAN HASKELL Aidan Haskell is a 2020 graduate of Westerly High School. Throughout his high school career, he was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) placing in the top three at state level competitions (four years in a row) which led him to three years of competition at the national level. Unfortunately, the 2020 national competition was cancelled due to the pandemic. At the time, he was the President of the FBLA. He was a member of the YMCA Leaders Club for eight years where he also served as President. Aidan is also a videographer and has made several short films including the 2020 Pep Rally and Senior Class Video. At the age of fifteen, while still in high school, he was hired to work for Next Tech Solutions, a technology firm in Pawcatuck, CT where he worked for five years. Aidan is currently employed by Cable Components Group LLC in Pawcatuck, CT where he works in Technology. Aidan plans to attend to business school in the future with a goal of owning his own business. He lives in Westerly, RI and enjoys film making, photography and composing music. He plays guitar and piano. Mr. Haskell has been a member of the Eugene Atwood Fund Trade and Tech Committee since June 2020. |
ERICA LINDBERG GOURD, MANAGING TRUSTEE
Erica Lindberg Gourd is a resident of Stonington, CT and offers group and private classes in oils, watercolors, pastels and Photoshop. She loves to paint and create; and she earned a Masters in Digital Imaging and Design from New York University in 2006. Before starting Lindberg Designs, where she paints and teaches art, Erica ran a branding and marketing company called Lindberg Marketing + Media whose mission was to monetize the art and images of children's characters, authors, illustrators, television shows, movies and cultural institutions. She enjoyed managing characters such as Where’s Waldo, Arthur and Paddington Bear and was formerly Vice President, Domestic and International Licensing for MTV Networks building the initial MTV, VH-1 and Nickelodeon product brands in the 1990’s. Before that, she was also the Director of Marketing for Jim Henson's production company where she launched movie and television promotions, built the first electronic and home entertainment departments for the Muppets. She enjoyed consultancies at Carnegie Hall, Bryant Park, Symphony Space and for Reading Rainbow. Erica believes in supporting non-profits and has served on the Westerly Hospital Foundation, We Are Family Foundation, New England Science and Sailing Advisory Board and briefly at Stone Acres Farm on their Board. Her real love is to capture emotion through color and design in a way that makes people feel good. Today that effort is mostly directed to painting and teaching. Ms. Lindberg Gourd has been a member of the Eugene Atwood Fund Board of Trustees since June 2013. MATT TAYLOR Matt Taylor works as a Project Manager for Rogers Manufacturing Corporation in Nashville, Tennessee where he is responsible for the buying and distribution of rough carpentry framing materials on multi-family projects, which range from Townhome builds to 400+ unit apartment buildings. Besides logistics, he also oversees the use of material on each project to ensure best framing practices are used for utilization of each type of material, with the end goal of keeping the client under budget. Before RMC, Matt got his experience in the lumber/construction industry from a variety of different jobs. These included: lumber yard Manager (Westall Chandley - Asheville, NC), Project Estimator for a custom homebuilder (Living Stone Construction – Black Mountain, NC) and Outside Sales Representative (Cedar Creek – Wholesale Lumber – Smyrna, TN). These varying positions helped provide a well-rounded understanding of both Residential and Commercial construction. Matt is originally from Asheville, North Carolina and graduated from Elon University in 2011 with a degree in Strategic Communications. He and his wife Meg have two children and an Australian Shepherd (Myles) who they love to take on long hikes. Mr. Taylor has been a member of the Eugene Atwood Fund Trade and Tech Committee since June 2020. |
