EUGENE ATWOOD INNOVATION AWARD - NOMINATION PROCESS

Effective January 1, 2024, senior high school students from New London County high schools can nominate themselves for the Eugene Atwood Innovation Award. This award provides funding to purchase necessary tools/equipment for students pursuing a career in a trade related program/profession. The process requires a student essay, the list of requested tools/equipment to include costs as well as a recommendation from the students Principal, Guidance Counselor or Teacher with their nomination.

The amount of money awarded is dependent of the amount of funding available per year which may range from $250 - $5000 and is at the discretion of the Trade/Tech Committee.  Nominations are due by February 28th.

If chosen for the award, funds will be distributed directly to the student by July 1st.  The recipient will have to provide the Eugene Atwood Fund with a receipt showing purchase of approved tools/equipment by Sept 1st.

Nominations for the Eugene Atwood Innovation Award are accepted yearly beginning January 1st with a deadline of February 28th.
